Hallo to all!

Well, as far as the week goes, it was pretty good, till my bandwidth ran out. On Friday I went with Irvine to see "Team America." It was hilarious! However, I sort of forgot that I had a review session for Intro to Ancient Egypt from 4-5:30 but oh well. I think I did ok on the exam today anyways. Then, my parents came up on Friday night, and Paloma stayed with me in my dorm, where she felt all cool b/c she got to stay in her sister's dorm room. On Saturday we went to San Marcos, where we spent 5 hours, and I got these BEAUTIFUL 1940's style shoes that look like they came straight out of a Norman Rockwell painting. THey're BEAUTIFUL.... except they gave me blisters on my heels, which is no fun. On Saturday night, we took Kevin and his mom down to P.F. Chang's on 2nd and San Jac Blvd. However, it was the day before Halloween, so therefore everybody was in costume, and in very freaky costumes at that. I think Mrs. Osmers got a little worried, but that was actually the first time I've been to 6th street not in daylight. It was weird, but also pretty cool just to people-watch as we walked by. Yesterday I spent 2 1/2 hours studying with Rachael for Ancient Egypt after the 'rents went away, and then this morning I took my exam. I didn't do as well as I'd hoped, but I really hope I do well enough to warrant a good grade. Tomorrow, apart from a dreadfully early lab at 8 am, I have a GEO quiz. After the review session today, I went with Laura to her apartment where we "studied" and basically had fun watching her roommate talk to this guy she liked, and then we all dished about the guys we like and blah blah blah. Laura was telling me about this one instance when Higley (her boyfriend, but this was when they had just started going out) just came up behind her, put his arms around her and kissed her. Both Angela and I were like... AWWWWWW!!! That's probably the hottest, most romantic thing to do to somebody. It's like a movie scene. I mean, hell, I'd love it if the guy I liked did that to me (although I'd probably go from shock to bliss within a matter of seconds until the action processed in my mind). Angela's a bit more modest, and so she was like, "I'd rather he just plant a kiss on my cheek, so I understand his intentions, but am not weirded out by a kiss without warning by a guy that I haven't been dating for awhile." I think that that's cute too. It makes me reconsider my whole "swearing off guys till grad school" notion. My mom was giving me a "talk" this weekend though, about "not having a boyfriend till you're ready for marriage, and how at this point in time you shouldn't have a boyfriend, etc." (you see where my initial logic came from, then?) But I'm thinking: Provided I know him well enough, provided things don't move too quickly, and provided I can see a long-term (although not necessarily marriage, but more like a several-year-thing) relationship in there somewhere, I'm fair game for a relationship. I mean, I know my mom wants me to focus on school and everything, but I believe that I can handle a boyfriend. The relationship would have to be one of those that's not too fast-paced or clingy, because then I know I WOULD neglect my work, but if it's just right, I think it can be done. Now just to have the boy ask me... because although I may not be ubermodest in showing affection, I still am a bit old-fashioned. The guy must ask, because although I might LIKE to make the first move, I'm most definitely too modest to do so.
